Maple Scones?! With Cinnamon Sugar Butter?! Yum!
This recipe is very simple to make from scratch and is sure to please! It’s perfect with a nice warm cup of coffee in the morning 🙂
I honestly have no idea where this recipe came from.. It’s one of those recipes handwritten on a scraggly piece of notebook paper and thrown in the pages of my cookbooks.
..It’s possible that an angel wrote it and put it there 😉
I prefer my scones to be just a little softer than a normal scone, so if you prefer them to be extra dry you may want to knead in a bit more flour or cook for a little longer.
Remember to use real maple syrup for this recipe! Aunt Jemima’s pancake syrup won’t cut it here, darlin’.
Maple Scones:
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 c. maple syrup (not pancake syrup, but real syrup)
3/4 c. whipping cream
-Preheat oven to 425
-Mix dry ingredients together.
-In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients together. Pour into dry ingredients and blend until dough forms
-Knead on a floured surface, shape into circle and cut into 6 wedges
-Place on greased baking sheet (I sometimes sprinkle raw sugar on top) and bake for 10-12 minutes.
Cinnamon Sugar Butter
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 tsp sugar
Cinnamon
-Mix sugar into melted butter.
-Sprinkle cinnamon (about on top and stir well
-Refrigerate and get ready to put it on a warm, yummy scone!
Enjoy, and feel free to email with any questions!
